Adventure Aquarium Names Jennifer Porter New Vice President, Executive Director

Porter previously served as the organization’s Director of Sales & Marketing

CAMDEN, N.J. (May 24, 2023) – Adventure Aquarium announced that Jennifer Porter, formerly Director of Sales and Marketing, has been promoted to VP, Executive Director for the organization. 

Since joining the Adventure Aquarium team in 2019, Porter has been a critical factor in the organization’s success, especially coming out of the shutdowns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. In her new role, Porter will oversee all aspects of Adventure Aquarium's day-to-day business operations and drive long-term strategic planning for the facility.

Porter steps into this new role with a B.S. in Marketing from Providence College and more than 28 years of marketing experience. Her 20-plus-year career began in advertising, later serving as Director, Marketing & Media for Sony Corporation of America and VP, Integrated Marketing at Comedy Central. Before joining the Adventure Aquarium team, Porter served as Executive Director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, California’s third-largest wine region.

Prior to Porter taking over as Adventure Aquarium’s Executive Director, the role was held by Molly Deese, who was recently promoted to SVP of the Attractions Management Division for the Aquarium’s parent company, Herschend. 

Adventure Aquarium, located in Camden, N.J., on the Delaware Waterfront, is one of the top attractions in the Greater Philadelphia Area, renowned for its extensive collection of aquatic species and immersive exhibits. The Aquarium offers visitors the opportunity to explore and learn about the wonders of the ocean through once-in-a-lifetime experiences and engaging educational programs. The Aquarium offers experiences, such as the chance to see the largest collection of sharks in the Northeast and the only hippos in the world exhibited at an aquarium.
